That would be the new foster kitten, Gibson. Gibson came from the same area as Marshmallow so there is a good chance they are related. Gibson is 10 weeks old, and as usual a male. He's a darker black then Marshmallow and more compact. It's only his 2nd day inside so understandably he's nervous and a little lost but compared to some he's doing great. No smacking, hissing or big to-dos. He'll shy away from you but you can easily pick him up and handle him. As soon as you have him against you he starts purring and rubbing his face on you so he should come around rather quickly. He's getting along great with Boone already.
He's decided that the window sill is a perfect place to call out for help. Poor little guy, he's been in the window since he came here meowing frantically. The neighbours has told me he's seen him crawling up to the top of screen. Now this means he's had to squeeze in between the window and screen and this window is on the second floor with the driveway under it. So should that screen break under his weight and he falls, it won't be good. The room gets hot without the window open but I can't have the risk of him falling out the window so I shut the lower half and opened the upper half where he can't really get to. So hopefully he doesn't find a way and stays safe.
Munch and Stabler have been adopted and just left for their new home today. I'm going to miss them but they aren't far from the house and will be coming back to the clinic for their neuter in October so I might drop by and see them. The wife also said she'd send some pictures in a few months. Be good boys!
Anyways without further ado a few pictures of Sir Gibson.

Who's that kitty in the window?

All about the marshmallow!
Marshmallow is such a freakin' lovebug! When its just you and him, if there are other cats or the dog, he gets a little crazy but if you can grab him he'll cuddle with you. I walked into his room this morning, a can of wet food and a plate for some chow time and call out his name he peeks his head around the corner of the cat tree and mews at me frantically "OMG You're back! Where were you?! I was all by myself, and bored and OMG food! I Love you!" It was too cute. He spent half an hour or more just laying in my lap, playing with me and nuzzling. This little guy is stealing my heart, he's awesome. No new pictures of him today but I got a video of him yesterday meeting Boone again. He's better then he was at at first and afterwards actually went up and sniffed him. I think he'll come along soon.
I'll get another update and pictures/video of Munch and Stabler later today that I took yesterday. I got one of those cat videos with birds and squirrels in it that is supposed to be all interesting to them.

What day is it now with them?
OK so long time to blog, yet again. Seriously I need a good kick in the pants over this. So Finn was adopted by a high school friend, which I think is awesome as I’ll get to hear how he’s doing and see pictures of him as he grows. She has another cat, Moo Moo, who of course is black and white.
There has been maybe one email asking about the other two boys, and that one was for Finn and Stabler. It’s slow, it’s summer I know, plus they aren’t exactly the right color, they’re mostly black with white, people have black cat syndrome. Oh well I’m more then happy to keep them here until their time comes to move onto their forever homes. The boys have also been up to no good and then Boone gets the blame! We thought it was Boone going into the garbage and spreading it everywhere, Boone who was making all the messes of toilet paper etc. But no, it was Stabler and Munch, little brats. Poor Booney, he didn’t seem to hurt over it of course but now we have to second guess who’s to blame not that we can punish them or anything since we find it well after its been done.
Munch has picked up this crazy new thing. I thought doing it once might teach him a lesson but no. A few weeks ago the boyfriend was in the bathroom, he hardly ever shuts the door properly if at all so Munch trotted right on it and jumped into the toilet while the boyfriend was going! Boyfriend yells, Munch runs for his life into the bedroom. I run over to see what happened he tells me and then I grab Munch who is now covered in urine and dripping it all over the carpet and whisk him into the kitchen sink where he gets a bath. Cats look so pathetic when they get went, he wasn’t a looker at all until he was nice and dry again. So you’d think he’d not do it again but he does unless the door is shut properly.
So while out the other day with boyfriend’s mom we stop by at the vet clinic to drop off a cat. While there we see this little fellow sitting all by himself in a HUGE cage. He was ready to go they just hadn’t found a foster home yet for him, so since I was down a kitten I agreed to take him home. He’s thus far ignored Stabler and Munch’s attempts to befriend him and just wants to hide, he’s very skittish any sound that he decides he doesn’t like and he runs for cover and won’t come out but will cry. He hates Boone with a passion, puffs up, spits, hisses, jumps, smacks. Poor Booney just wants another kitten to love and is quite put off by this act of hatred towards him. Little guy even turned on me at one point so I left him be.
This morning we both hear him crying painfully, and see his eyes peeking over the stairs to the basement staring at us. He finally creeps across the floor and we snag him from behind the couch. Once you have him in your arms, he starts purring but again any sound and he’s off like a bullet. So I decided to lock him into the spare room so I can watch that he’s eating and doing OK. Within a few moments he decides I’m the greatest person alive and is a giant cuddle bug I’ve been typing most of this with one hand as he demands I be stroking him. He also has a nasty habit of rolling in his litter box. Ew, no wonder he is stinky. He’s still crying but only if I ignore him. He was named Galen at the clinic however I’m not a fan of it and have had a recent obsession with wanting to name something marshmallow and here he comes along. So yes, the little boy is being called Marshmallow. He’s 6 weeks old so much more tiny than Stabler and Munch. He seems to be a little more open to them now as I’ve let the them into the room so he won’t be so lonely and dependent on me. Munch and Marshmallow are grooming each other in one basket.

Day 22 with the foster kittens
So today they had yet another big day. They went to a kitten adopt-a-thon. I was so excited that at least one of them might find their new home though I would miss them. But it didn't go as planned, several foster parents didn't show up to drop their kittens off and only one person actually came with the intention of getting a kitten. In the end however she left kittenless with a promise that she would get back she just wanted to think about it as we were pushing her to adopt two kittens instead of just one as its better for them. So I guess one could say it was a flop, we didn't advertise it very well I think plus its summer and the first weekend that the schools are out so most people were probably out at cottages, doing family stuff or away on vacation.
The kittens did well in the enclosure in the pet store with four other kittens except one kitten constantly beat on Munch, cornering him and giving him several beat downs. I had to get in there several times to pull the tabby/white kitten away from him. After awhile things calmed down some to the point I didn't feel the need to watch every move the tabby/white kitten made. All three are plum tuckered out now, passed out and I'm sure happy to be back home. However I may have a home lined up for one of them with a high school friend.

Day 20 with the foster kittens
Today was a big day for the kids, they got their vaccines, deworming and microchip this morning. I had to wake them all up to put them in their carrier, at first they were quiet, I guess still groggy but as soon as we were in the car the meowing started and paws shooting out between the bars to grab on to my shirt and pull as if that would somehow get them out of their "jail cell". We get inside the clinic and they almost immediately fall silent. Buggers.
Stabler was the first victim to go into the back room. I don't know if it was vaccine or the microchip that caused it but he let out a quick, shrill squeak, I'm thinking it was the microchip as that needle is pretty darn big. He came back wide eyed and a little shifty. I put him back into the empty carrier as the other two were out meeting the clinic cats where he was silent for a bit and then started meowing frantically with the same wide, scared eyes.
Munch was next, I figured he'd be the biggest baby as he is one at home, always crying for attention, or when Stabler/Finn steal the toy he was playing with, or if we are petting anyone but him. But nope, he took it like a man and came back without a sound or looking upset. He was put into the carrier with the complaining Stabler. Stabler shushed a bit at this.
Finn was the last and like Stabler I'm not sure if it was the vaccine needle or the microchip but he let out a long, angry yowl. Who know the smallest kitten would turn into a vicious tiger when poked? Hehe, poor little sap. He came back looking like Stabler but less shifty just wide eyed and watchful of everything around him as if he was sure someone would perform a sneak attack with a needle.
They all fell asleep(despite the claps of thunder) and were pretty groggy for a few hours after but are now back to their normal selves. I also sent in their info to be placed up on the MHS website so they can be adopted now that they've had their shots. I'd like to hold onto them for another few weeks until they are 12 weeks old, but at this point with being away from mom in the first place I don't think it'll hurt them much. They are pretty adaptable little guys and took being separated from mom very well.
Here are their MHS pictures:

Day 18 with foster kittens (orignally Tuesday, June 23, 2009)
Haven’t updated in awhile. But the kittens are doing great! They are getting so big, soon they’ll be off to new homes and the next batch can come in. We went away for the weekend and for the first time the kittens had free roam of the house day and night. While the resort was a blast we missed our little fur balls. Came home to a note on the fridge, the kittens had learned how to get up on the counters and stove by climbing the dish rags hanging off the oven handle! So no more hanging dish towels until they are gone. I never would have thought about that, none of the other fosters have ever done it but these guys did. Naughty little buggers.
They still haven’t had their shots… “T” was going to take them in while we were away but there is really sick leukemia cat at the vet’s office and she didn’t want to risk them getting sick.
No pictures unfortunately… my camera battery has died and I’ve been rather lazy about doing anything about it. I'll get on that now asap while out doing errands!
All of their personalities have been developing even further.
Munch has proved to crave human attention the most. He'll climb or jump into your lap and let out non stop, drawn out whiny meows and if that fails to get you to touch him he'll climb up onto your shoulder and do it from there until you love on him. heaven forbid you make eye contact with him if he's anywhere in the room as he then takes this as a cue to come running for attention and won't leave you alone until he's had his fill or something catches his attention (like siblings playing without him!). He loves being around the other animals and if he can't find any of them (not just his siblings) he gets very bored and destructive. Starts biting us (playfully), attack out fingers/toes(playfully), chewing on wires... lordy. I do believe he is a candidate for a multi cat/animal home. He really seems to crave not only human contact but animal contact as well.
Stabler doesn't make much noise unless he's hurt himself and then h lets go a screech unless he finds himself alone which again he lets out a screech. He has his moments of cuddling but they have to be on his terms, should I want a cuddle and he doesn't want it he wiggles about until he's free and runs off to tackle one of the cats and race around the house like his butt is on fire. Despite it he's very lovable, and a completely doll. He does however have a habit of swatting at fingers with claws out in play which needs to stop. He's my computer desk companion, when I'm on the computer he'll come along at least once and sit just below the screen and watch it. He's so chubby and round I just want to squish him all the time.
Finn is a tad bit skittish, loud sounds or feet moving at him too quickly send up ducking for cover. He also has the nasty habit of biting and digging his claws into unsuspecting hands that pet him. Again this needs to stop. He's the smallest still but growing into himself wonderfully. He loves to play and is always up for good rough housing, not letting anyone push him around despite his size he can easily over power his larger siblings. Finn is often found on his own curled up at the window or in a basket, under the bed, or in the closet if the door is open. He does play and can be very rowdy at it but doesn't seem to care too much if he's alone or not. Finn doesn't meow normally I've found unless he's unhappy about something and then its drawn out and high pitched. For the most part he squeaks or just blows out air while trying to meow. It's adorable and slowly he's coming around to being a cuddle bug.
Poor Munch. I was sitting on the edge of the tub shaving my legs to go get some sun (25C or 77F!!) Munch comes along crying for attention. I wonder to myself if he's this clueless... no cat or dog be it foster or not ever ventures into the bathroom when the tub has water in it for some reason. Well Reyna and Boone or waiting out in the hall for me and Munch just comes wondering in crying. I say hello and go back to shaving. Next thing I know Munch is on the side of the tub with me. I give him another stroke and tell him to be careful. He starts walking along the ledge and climbing over the spout and next then he hits the water. I was waiting for him to explode and try to get out but he stood there in the tub for a moment, frozen (in terror?) and then looks up at me and starts this frantic, painful meowing. I remove him and he does a little jigg out of the bathroom shaking his legs as he goes. Poor fellow. He's now posted in the middle of the bed frantically licking the memory away.
